Southern Laser Purchased Trimble/Spectra Precision Stores in Florida 06.03.2002
The Orlando store is located at 5790 Hoffner Road, #507 with the Ft. Myers operation at 5898 Enterprise Parkway. The two new stores will operate under the Southern Laser’s name. The Tampa location is 19313 Highway 41 in Lutz.
Southern Laser opened for business in 1982, and has grown today to 25 employees with three locations. Fred Meyer explains, “It was an exciting time when I started this company––20 years later the promising changes in technology make it even more exciting.”
In addition to this expansion, Southern Laser will represent Trimble machine control and surveying equipment and Spectra Precision Lasers at all locations. Fred Meyer continues, “I chose to represent the Trimble products in my stores because of the company’s strong support to both sales and service training for my employees, plus the number of field specialists available to assist us and our customers exceeded my expectations. Trimble also markets a broader range of product perfectly matched to our markets.”
Ron Newcomb division vice president Americas’ sales for the Trimble Engineering and Construction Division explains, “Having Southern Laser as a Trimble dealer is very exciting to us. They have long been recognized as a leader in the many customer segments we serve. This new partnership provides them the full capability in providing Trimble’s integrated total solutions from ‘concept to completion’”.
To commence the new relationship with Trimble, Southern Laser is holding a three-day event called Tech-Expo June 4-6 in Zephyrhills, 30 miles north of Tampa. Trimble will have six representatives on-hand to demonstrate the benefits of the newest technology available for the industry.
Trimble machine control and survey regional sales manager for the Southeast, Brad Rouse explains, “Our goal is to bring in the top 150 decision makers for contracting and surveying companies to showcase the Trimble 3D machine control products such as BladePro 3D for motorgrader control and SiteVision GPS for dozers. We’ll also have experts on hand to demonstrate LaserStation 3D, a one-person 3D layout tool.”
Each store will stock the latest machine control systems, construction lasers and surveying equipment, and will provide factory authorized repair for all products.
