MoreNovaLIS Technologies' Land Development Office solution will provide the Town of Truro with a database management system to automate its land permitting process. Land Development Office is Geographic Information System (GIS) - based, meaning all land records can be visually displayed on a map.
Land Development Office (LDO) automates government land management practices such as permitting, code compliance, licensing, planning, project tracking, and growth management. Through its customizable workflow processes, LDO ensures the consistent application of regulations, increases staff productivity, and improves customer service. This enables the user to maintain and analyze infrastructure and planning policy. "Our solution will provide the Town of Truro with flexibility to change and grow," says NovaLIS President Gary Waters. "It's an off-the-shelf product that can be customized to satisfy the unique, specific, and changing workflow process of the Town. LDO is designed to integrate with other Land Management Information Systems, including an unmatched level of integration with ESRI's Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which is currently being used in Truro." The project with the Town of Truro officially launched this month, and is scheduled for completion in the Spring 2002.
The Province will offer each municipality a free Land Development Office license through Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. This software license is now available free of charge to the Town of Truro. In addition, Truro will get free support and maintenance for two years following completion of installation of LDO.
