CompassCom to serve as an Automatic Vehicle Location value-added reseller for the public safety market.

Trimble has signed an agreement to expand its relationship with CompassCom Inc. to serve as an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) value-added reseller for the public safety market.

Trimble’s AVL Subsystems, which are based on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, are primarily designed for managing public safety fleets such as fire, police and emergency medical services (EMS), a market served by CompassCom. As a value-added reseller, CompassCom will offer Trimble AVL Subsystem customers access to a wider range of products and services.

As part of the reseller agreement, CompassCom will also offer maintenance contracts for ongoing support of Trimble AVL Subsystems customers.

The new reseller agreement will offer advantages to Trimble AVL Subsystem customers. CompassCom will:

  • Provide sales, marketing and integration expertise of Trimble AVL Subsystem components
  • Provide ongoing customer support
  • Offer additional products and services such as CompassFDE AVL Server and CompassTrac map display to enhance the functionality of current AVL Subsystem installations
