One of MapInfo's largest partners in the UK is putting its weight behind a ground-breaking new product which will allow its customers to exploit their spatial data to its fullest potential.

GDC has signed an agreement with geospatial experts Laser-Scan that allows it to deliver Laser-Scan's new Radius Topology product to their users across the UK.

GDC is the first company within the MapInfo channel to offer Laser-Scan's latest innovation.

Radius Topology is an advanced spatial processing environment, which adds topology to the standard Oracle9i database and provides dramatic improvements to the speed and quality of spatial data manipulation.

Laser-Scan's Radius Topology works behind the scenes, adding contiguity and relative position intelligence to the Oracle spatial types. GIS (Geographical Information System) applications continue unchanged.

GDC will be using Radius Topology to enhance their PlanWeb 2 product to provide full snapping and editing within a web based GIS. Radius Topology will also form a key component in the development of GDC's spatial data warehouse, GeoStore.

GDC is Laser-Scan's preferred supplier within Local Authority Departments using MapInfo technology. This agreement with GDC is part of the Laser-Scan channel strategy, which also includes interoperable and open solutions for other world-leading GIS desktop and web solutions.
