Laser-Scan’s (Cambridge, United Kingdom) Product Architect, Seb Lessware, takes Deputy Chairmanship of the UK Oracle User Group, Spatial SIG, organized by the UK Oracle User Group.
PBS&J, Miami, Fla., consolidated of two of its business units. PBS&J has integrated its federal program into the company’s civil engineering services business sector. In addition, PBS&J’s board of directors appointed Charles I. Homan, PE, as the responsible national service director. Homan is an executive vice president of PBS&J and a member of the firm’s board of directors. PBS&J has also named Thomas D. Pellarin, PE, director of its Florida region. Pellarin, who joined PBS&J in 1989, is a member of PBS&J’s board of directors. Located in Orlando, he is responsible for leading the firm’s business positioning strategy within this important region for the firm. Todd J. Kenner, PE, has been appointed corporate director of marketing. He is the current director of the firm’s Western Region and has led the firm’s growth in the western United States over the past 10 years. Kenner is located in the Las Vegas area.
DigitalGlobe, Longmont, Colo., announced that MAPS Geosystems has partnered with DigitalGlobe to become a reseller of QuickBird satellite imagery for the Middle East and regions of Africa. While aerial photography continues to be a core offering to MAPS clients, MAPS’ new offering of high-resolution satellite imagery provides an economic alternative for applications requiring quick turn-around.
Andrew Lonnie Sikes Inc.’s (Houston, Texas) Clute, Texas, office has been acquired by long-time employees Chuck Wachtstetter and Pat Doyle. The new firm is called Doyle and Wachtstetter Inc. and will remain at 131 Commerce.
Burgess and Niple, Virginia Beach, Va., hired Ennis O. Johnson as survey manager in its Virginia Beach, Va. office. He is responsible for surveying for land development and public infrastructure projects, managing office and field personnel and reviewing layouts and plans for construction.
Azteca Systems, Sandy, Utah, and the Schneider Corporation, Indianapolis, Ind., have combined forces to provide asset management services to municipal and county agencies. Schneider is now a reseller of Azteca’s CityWorks. Schneider Corporation also expanded its GIS solutions through the establishment of TransGIS, a group of related products and services to broaden the user base for local government GIS by incorporating solutions for transportation infrastructure management through enhancing GIS data.
Jerry J. Franklin, PLS, joined Reid Middleton, Everett, Wash., as the survey group manager. Franklin is responsible for managing survey operations, supervising project work and marketing Reid Middleton’s survey services.
