Laser-Scan announces User and Partner Conference 03.14.2003

The 2003 Conference has been re-shaped to offer a platform for Laser-Scan's partners and users to come together to debate key issues.

Laser-Scan announces its annual User and Partner Conference, 17 - 18 July 2003, Cambridge, UK.

In line with Laser-Scan's dynamic approach to partnering, the 2003 Conference has been re-shaped to offer a platform for Laser-Scan's partners and users to come together to debate the key issues facing today's geospatial community and to explore Laser-Scan's product suite.

As the convergence of GIS technology with mainstream IT continues, Laser-Scan offers the opportunity for delegates to quiz leading industry professionals on current developments and the outlook for the future.

Adena Schutzberg, Editor of GIS Monitor, will open the conference with a keynote addressing the nature of interoperability and its role in today's geospatial solutions.

"There are a number of pressures on today's GIS solution providers and users. Interoperability is yet another topic on a growing wish list. Both groups need to look carefully at if, and how to support interoperability from a technical and business perspective."

Confirmed speakers include James Brayshaw, Managing Director Digital Brands at Ordnance Survey GB and Guenther Pichler, Managing Director of the Open GIS Consortium (Europe) Ltd. The conference will also feature a panel discussion on the subject of enterprise spatial data, with panelists including Oracle's Mike Turnill.

Laser-Scan's partners and users in the fields of defence, local government and national & commercial mapping will be discussing how they use Laser-Scan's cutting-edge technology to take advantage of the opportunities being created by the raft of new national spatial data sets.

The comprehensive agenda offers presentations and interactive workshops on topics including:

  • Radius Topology - user presentations, technical presentations from Laser-Scan experts, live demonstrations of Radius Topology working with leading GIS applications
  • Clarity - Laser-Scan's automatic generalisation product
