Targeted at commercial, corporate and government enterprises in the $9.7 billion CAD and $42 billion software developer communities, Code Once technology is contained in new releases of the company's PowerCAD Pro, PowerCAD CE Pro and PowerENGINE Software Development Systems (variable subscription pricing), scheduled for delivery in April 2002.

A scalable, component based software development system, PowerENGINE embedded solutions can range from AutoCAD compatible design engineering solutions for architecture, engineering, construction and manufacturing, to business engineering solutions such as emergency/911 planning, sales automation and portable/wireless stock trading for brokers/analysts. If required, resulting applications can directly exchange data in industry compatible DWG, DXF and FLX file formats for implementation in a shared AutoCAD/PowerCAD environment.

Utilizing Microsoft ActiveSync or built-in wireless data transfer utilities, information can be wirelessly transferred between mobile workers and a company's internal computing network using Pocket PC's such as Compaq's iPAQ, Hewlett Packard's Jornada and Cassio's Cassiopeia, or ruggedized tablet PC's such as At Work Computers' Ranger 200C, Advantech Automation Corporation's MobiPanel or Panasonic Corporation's Toughbook 01.

Code Once supports solution development using PowerENGINE's Visual C++ and Lisp application programming interfaces. Using PowerCAD's exclusive Desktop and Menu Editing system, applications can be visually designed and quickly prototyped on a Windows desktop platform, with results ready for operation on Windows desktop and Windows CE computing systems. Applications written in AutoLisp or ADS for use with AutoCAD, by Autodesk Inc, can be quickly ported for operation using PowerCAD or PowerENGINE.
