The initial award was a QBS (Qualifications Based Selection) process for these professional services. To more effectively support this contract and FPI's existing Airborne Hydrographic LIDAR support contract with the U.S Navy's Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO), the company has recently opened a permanent office in Kiln, Mississippi at the Stennis International Airport. This office will support ongoing FPI operations at the JALBTCX, as well as this new USACE contract. James Waddell III, FPI's new Manager of Hydrographic LIDAR Services - SE Division, will manage the office. Mr. Waddell served six years at NAVO in the Technical Staff of the Hydrographic Branch at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, before retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. He previously had served 14 years in the Hydrographic Corps for NOAA and is an IHO Category - A Certified Hydrographer.
