Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions recently donated 400 copies of GeoMedia Professional software to UNIGIS in support of the program's geographic information system (GIS) distance learning curriculum. In a related move, Intergraph and UNIGIS have begun efforts to develop teaching materials based on Intergraph technology. GeoMedia Professional is being integrated into postgraduate certificate, diploma and master coursework for applying GIS principles and methodology. The software donation is an example of Intergraph's collaboration with academia.
