New Matrox Multi-Display Graphics Technology to be Unveiled at ESRI 7.26.04

Matrox's latest innovations provide ability to power multiple displays from a laptop docking station and up to 16 displays from a single PC.

What's happening: Matrox will be showcasing new, ground-breaking graphics technology for GIS at the upcoming ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, California. The Matrox P650 Low-profile PCI multi-display graphics card, ideal for small form factor PCs and laptop docking stations, as well as the Matrox Advanced Synchronization Module (ASM), providing cutting-edge genlock support for multi-board and multi-system display synchronization, will be demonstrated along with other innovative graphics technology from Matrox.

Matrox offers the most diverse line of graphics cards for GIS professionals, providing features such as OpenGL acceleration on up to four displays from a single chip; unmatched support for high-resolution panels at a resolution of 3840 x 2400 @ 200 dots per inch; unparalleled image quality and performance on color and grayscale stereo monitors; advanced multi-system and multi-board genlocking capabilities; and support for non-standard resolutions and aspect ratios.

Other features include high meantime before failure (MTBF); Matrox FanAlert for added system security, which advises the system administrator if the fan should malfunction; unified drivers that have been certified for leading CAD and GIS applications by both Matrox and independent software vendors; and AGP and PCI interfaces, enabling several Matrox products to be run alongside each other in the same system for enhanced workstation setups.

Additionally, Matrox UltraSharp Display Output Technology ensures the sharpest render possible onscreen. Due to Matrox graphics cards' high-precision random access memory digital to analog converters (RAMDACs) and advanced design techniques, signal quality is maintained at the highest frequency desktop settings, resulting in flicker-free, ultra-crisp images that are free of any pixel ghosting, sparkling or shadowing artifacts.
