The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) awarded multi-year contracts for the acquisition of high-resolution satellite imagery to Colorado-based companies Space Imaging and DigitalGlobe. These agreements, collectively referred to as CLEARVIEW, implement a new level of partnering between the U.S. Government and the remote sensing industry. They afford greater access and priority to Government customers while providing the industry with long-term commitments and an increased ability to use existing efficiencies in the management of federal customer requirements.

CLEARVIEW is a five-year contract with a base performance period of three years and two additional one-year options. CLEARVIEW replaces a cumbersome licensing structure with a single license that permits sharing imagery with all potential mission partners.
