The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced that online registration for its Annual Conference 27 is now open at its website.

GITA's Annual Conference 27, set for April 25-28, 2004, at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle, is one of the premier geospatial events of the year. With the theme "Information, Strategy, Vision "¦ Building Performance for a New Age," GITA's annual conference will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the latest industry developments through more than 85 paper presentations, 15 knowledge immersion seminars, and an 80,000-square-foot exhibition hall-all in the uniquely unbiased format for which GITA is known. Registration fees for GITA's annual conference have remained the same for four consecutive years, but longtime attendees will notice a change in registration procedures this year. Instead of registration fees based on when attendees register for the conference, GITA is implementing a cost savings structure based on whether attendees stay at host hotels-an increasingly popular trend in the conference industry.

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers, serving as the conference headquarters hotel and located adjacent to the Convention Center, and the Westin Seattle, a host hotel located a few blocks away, are offering special discounted rates to conference attendees. The online registration form on GITA's Web site permits attendees to register for the conference as well as make room reservations at one of the host hotels.

United Airlines, the official airline of the conference, will offer discounts on the lowest applicable fare to Seattle. To take advantage of this discount, attendees or their travel agent must call United Airlines' toll-free number, 1-800-521-4041, and refer to Meeting ID Number 551SD.
