The Imaging & Geospatial Information Society (ASPRS) and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) are jointly planning a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Specialty Conference on Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2001, in St. Petersburg, Fla. The conference format will open with a keynote address on the first day, then continue with specific consecutive sessions covering applications, standards and technologies. Preliminary topics scheduled to be covered include technology, data and utilization of IFSAR, LIDAR, photogrammetry, bathymetric LIDAR and SONAR; the present and future development of enabling technologies; accuracy and cost comparison of the various technologies; procurement policies; and research/development/cost sharing opportunities.
