The company will focus on all facets of the surveying industry, from construction staking and boundary/topographic surveys, to the emerging GIS and DTM markets. Leading Edge utilizes the latest technology in survey-grade GPS with real-time data resolution through modem link to wide area reference networks.

Leading Edge has been in business for more than nine years and currently has 45 employees in Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. Atlanta is not only a rapidly growing market, but it is key in building a network to more efficiently service clients throughout the southeast.

The Atlanta office is led by Ken Brown, PLS, who has more than 27 years of survey experience, including transportation, solid waste, storm water and site development. For nearly 10 years he served as chair and steering committee member of the Council of Professional Surveyors, a sub-committee of ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies). Prior to joining Leading Edge, Brown managed a 40-man, multi-million-dollar, survey operation for a large engineering firm in the Atlanta area for 18 years.

Also on board with Leading Edge in South Hall are Project Surveyor Jesse Huff, and Party Chief Johnny Free.
