Cianbro recently received the 2005 Annual Award for Communications Excellence from The ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) Association, a national association dedicated to employee ownership. Recognized for their total communications program, Cianbro received top honors during the association's annual conference held this spring in our nation's capital.
Judging the company's newsletters, websites, orientation video, planning materials, and attitude, The ESOP Association's panel of judges concluded, "Cianbro communicates well, even though they deal with many scattered locations and two languages."
Championing the use of multimedia, the judges added, "Cianbro has a particularly strong orientation video, tying employee ownership directly to company success using employee-owner comments. It shows real pride of ownership. No doubt here that Cianbro is a real team."
The ESOP Association sponsors the Annual Awards for Communications Excellence Program in order to foster ever-improving employee-owner communications by way of sharing among association members and believing that one good innovation sparks many more. Entries were on display during the association's annual conference in May and will be again at their communications conference in July near Chicago.
The ESOP Association also named Cianbro 2005 Employee Ownership Poster Contest Winner. Cianbro's poster design will be used as The ESOP Association's Employee Ownership Month Poster in October, which is recognized as Employee Ownership Month. Cianbro received both honors during the association's annual conference held this spring in our nation's capital.
Cianbro celebrated 100% employee-ownership on December 31, 2004. With the year-end purchase of all remaining shares of Cianbro stock held by Founders Kenneth and Ival "Bud" Cianchette, Cianbro's 2,000 team members are now owners of their company.
