MorePocket Quads.NET is software for the Pocket PC that allows the user to view digital topo maps on their Pocket PC, and offers the most advanced auto map-loading capabilities in the industry. Pocket Quads.NET auto-loads, auto-centers, and auto-tracks topo maps, in real time, based on the current GPS position (GPS receiver not included). Rather than downloading portions of maps from a PC, or a narrow route from point A to point B, Pocket Quads.NET allows the user to store hundreds of FULL SIZE digital topo maps on a single Flash (CF or SD) Card, and loads them automatically, as needed.
This Special Edition of Pocket Quads.NET comes with over 200 digital Topo Maps for all of Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks and includes the 1:24,000 (7.5' Quadrangle), 1:100,000, and 1:250,000 scale maps. These digital maps are all pre-processed and ready to use. Simply install the software and copy the maps from the CD to an SD or CF Flash card. Pocket Quads.NET, combined with the user's GPS receiver, will track and display the GPS position on the Topo map in real time throughout all of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Pocket Quads.NET software allows the user to switch between the 1:24,000, 1:100,000, and 1:250,000 scale maps "on the fly". The software also offers pan, zoom, import, export, and storing of points, annotations, and lines to a job file, and point navigation (stakeout). Pocket Quads.NET supports all NAD83 State Plane and UTM Coordinate zones. Included with the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks Edition is the USGS Wyoming GNIS Database, which contains over 27,000 features. Pocket Quads.NET allows users to search for features, by Feature Name, such as Old Faithful. Tap the Load button and the Topo Map containing that feature is automatically loaded and displayed. Radial searches by Feature Type are also supported, such as all of the "Falls" within 5 miles of a tapped point or your current GPS position.
In addition, Prosurv LLC has added over 1,000 NGS Monuments (Horizontal & Vertical Benchmarks) for all of Park and Teton Counties in Wyoming. This allows the user to perform a radial search such as "all Horizontal NGS Monuments within 3 miles", automatically loading the Topo map of the selected monument and displaying the location of the monument on the screen.
