ESRI now sells ArcPad, its software for mobile GIS and mapping applications, with the Thales Mobile-Mapper CE to ESRI customers in the United States. Together, ArcPad and MobileMapper CE provide field personnel with the ability to capture, analyze and display geographic information, update enterprise data, and improve productivity and decision making in the field. The combination creates a flexible solution for GIS and mapping applications. Ready for extreme outdoor and industrial environments, MobileMapper CE is the next-generation handheld GPS mobile mapping device from Thales offering an open-platform design with embedded Microsoft Windows CE, submeter, real-time GPS positioning, Bluetooth wireless technology, removable Secure Digital (SD) card memory and field replaceable battery. Also, ESRI teamed with Xplore Technologies Corp., a rugged tablet PC provider, to provide special market bundles of ESRI mobile GIS solutions with Xplore's iX104C2 family of Tablet PC systems. Combining ESRI's GIS solutions with Xplore's rugged Tablet PCs and GPS, field personnel are equipped with powerful mobile information tools that provide access to highly accurate, real-time data collection and analysis. Configurations available include: ArcPad packaged with an Xplore Technologies Rugged iX104 C2V Tablet PC and options for Trimble GPS Pathfinder ProXT or ProXH Receiver; and ArcView or ArcEditor packaged with an Xplore Technologies Rugged iX104 C2V Tablet PC.
