Timmons Group Announces New Hires

Timmons hired Kirk McClurkin as a senior project manager and Jennifer Coughlin as a GIS analyst.

Timmons Group, an award-winning and industry-leading engineering and geospatial consultant headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, recently hired Kirk McClurkin as a senior project manager. McClurkin will spearhead the opening of a new Timmons Group office for the Technology Services sector in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

McClurkin, a professional land surveyor, is a recognized industry expert in geospatial solutions with experience in geographic information systems (GIS), information technology, asset management, surveying/global positioning systems (GPS), transportation, utility and public works services. McClurkin will support the Infrastructure Solutions Group within the Technology Services sector of Timmons Group. McClurkin will be managing projects for private and public clients throughout the East Coast as well as focusing on strategic growth in the firm's Technology Services sector.

McClurkin, a native of Virginia Beach, has over nine years of industry experience and has worked throughout the nation on a wide range of projects integrating IT, GIS and GPS technologies for municipal, private and federal entities. McClurkin earned a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Resource Management at Clemson University. McClurkin has also served as a visiting lecturer for Clemson University and Greenville Technical College, both in South Carolina.

Timmons Group also hired Jennifer Coughlin as a GIS analyst in the firm's new Technology Services office in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

Coughlin will support the Infrastructure Solutions Group within the Technology Services Business Unit of Timmons Group. Coughlin will help define vision and strategy for clients while providing geospatial consulting, systems integration and design, IT, business process reengineering and asset management services.

Prior to joining Timmons Group, Coughlin worked for Woolpert Inc., where she provided on-site support for the Newport News Public Works Enterprise Asset Management program. Coughlin also served as computer maintenance management services administrator for the Computer Sciences Corporation at the NASA Stennis Space Center.

Coughlin, a native of Windsor, Ontario, earned a BA in Geography from the University of Windsor and a GIS Application Specialist Certification from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Lindsay, Ontario.
