The Trimble LM80 Layout Manager with a servo or robotic total station provides concrete and general construction contractors the ability to carry, manage, work with and lay out the jobsite blueprint right in the field. Contractors can use the LM80 for the layout of control lines, offset points, excavation lines, foundations, forms and footers, and anchor bolt placement. The Trimble servo and robotic total stations work with the LM80 Layout Manager to provide an easy to learn and use system designed for construction layout work.

The Trimble LM80 Layout Manager is used with a servo or robotic total station by concrete and general construction contractors for laying out control lines, offset points, excavation lines, foundations, forms and footers, and anchor bolt placement. Trimble's servo and robotic total stations work with the LM80 Layout Manager to provide an easy to learn and use system. Together, the LM80 Layout Manager and a servo or robotic total station replace string lines, transits and theodolites to provide layout from one point on the site, requiring no need to re-setup the instrument. Residential concrete contractors can use the system to tie into property corners, layout concrete pads and walls, and pinning footers.

Contractors can select from either a servo or robotic total station. The servo total station is designed to turn automatically to correct alignment or layout direction. The user can simply enter the blue print into the LM80, select the point, and the total station moves to the correct direction, speeding up the process. The robotic total station can auto track the prism pole, thus it becomes a one-person field operation, offering substantial productivity gains over conventional total station systems.

The Trimble LM80 Layout Manager that works with a servo or robotic total station is expected to be available second quarter 2005 through Trimble's Construction Division dealer network.
