MicroVision, Seattle, Wash., developed a new visualization method that will allow surveyors and engineers to stay focused on the task at hand without compromising the integrity of their data. Called Retinal Scanning Display (RSD) technology it paints images on the eye, resulting in daylight-readable, see-through images with high resolution. RSD is incorporated into a wearable head unit and allows the wearer to view measurement data, GPS information, blueprints or other information superimposed over the landscape. The user’s hands are free, and the visual field virtually unobstructed, ensuring precise and efficient measurements.
