ERDAS Inc. released IIMAGINE Subpixel Classifier for ERDAS IMAGINE 8.4. The IMAGINE add-on application contains the Automatic Signature Derivation module, which automatically selects the best set of signature parameters. Subpixel Classifier also classifies objects smaller than the spatial resolution of the sensor; identifies specific materials within mixed pixels; detects materials that occupy from 100 percent to as little as 20 percent of a pixel; reports the fraction of material present in each pixel classified; develops signatures that are portable from one scene to another; and normalizes imagery for atmospheric effects.
