MoreIntergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions announced the call for nominations for the 2005 Carl Pulfrich Award. Z/I Imaging LTD, an Intergraph company, sponsors the award in order to promote outstanding scientific, application-oriented design and/or manufacturing activities in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing, including earth imaging applications. The biennial award is intended to honor the memory of Dr. Carl Pulfrich, a member of the scientific staff at Carl Zeiss from 1890 to 1927, during which time he directed the design of the first stereo photogrammetric and surveying instruments from Zeiss.
The award recipient will receive a monetary gift of $7,500 (U.S.) and will be presented the distinguished 2005 Carl Pulfrich Award plaque during the 50th annual Photogrammetric Week, Sept. 5-9, 2005, in Stuttgart, Germany.
Nominees will be considered on the basis of experience; activities in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing; and contributions to the advancement of all aspects of the earth imaging field. In addition, applied work involving hardware systems, software solutions or innovative service activities will be considered by the Award Council. Members of the earth imaging, remote sensing and photogrammetric community are encouraged to submit nominations by 5 p.m. (CST) on July 1, 2005.
