Surveying And Mapping Inc. Strengthens Team

David Jellison, RPLS, LSLS, and J. Anthony "Tony" Cavell, PLS, join the team at SAM Inc.

Surveying And Mapping Inc. (SAM Inc.) announced that David Jellison, RPLS, LSLS, has joined the firm as the department manager of survey operations for the Austin office and Tony Cavell, PLS, has joined the firm as GPS manager for the Austin office.

Prior to joining SAM Inc., Jellison served as manager of project services at the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), which included the departments of surveying and mapping, GIS, real estate services, and regulatory permitting. Additionally, he was responsible for establishing and managing professional services contracts to provide LCRA with outside resources for all of the aforementioned disciplines as well as environmental services, aerial mapping and LiDAR services.

With more than 30 years of surveying and management experience, Jellison will provide senior leadership, project management and staff supervision. He will support marketing efforts to further facilitate the management and growth of the company.

Cavell has joined SAM Inc. as GPS manager for the Austin office. Licensed in the state of Louisiana, he brings 27 years of experience in land surveying, Global Positioning Systems, terrestrial laser scanning, hydrographic surveying, offshore positioning, SONAR, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Cavell will carry the responsibilities of project manager and provide senior technical leadership in SAM Inc. GPS operations and terrestrial laser scanning.
