POB eNews Vol. 23 No. 3

June 11, 2008

EDITOR'S NOTE

Welcome to this week's edition of the POB eNews...   pob0308_turning08

Looking into the history of Father's Day, I admit that I was expecting to learn that it had something to do with land surveying. However, I failed to find a connection (for now at least). But I think, with your help, we can change that unfortunate oversight.

In honor of Father's Day, Sunday, June 15, POB has a gift to extend. We want to publish your family's creative Father's Day tribute to dear old dad, land-surveyor style. But we need some co-conspirators to make it happen.

Perhaps you have an aspiring young artist who is crafting a handmade card or picture this very minute that shows dad hard at work. Maybe you are part of a multigenerational surveying family and can share a cool photo reflecting that tradition. Or maybe you even have an aspiring film director or news reporter who tells stories through video instead of finger paint and crayons. The possibilities are endless, and so are the rewards.

So let's correct this historical oversight and start celebrating Father's Day the way it should be: land-surveyor style. Send your family's expressions of love and gratitude to lyonsw@bnpmedia.com for possible publication in our print or online magazines. I can't wait to see them.
