Greenwood County Council discusses dumping of sewage into Reedy River

... In business related to that, council had extensive discussion on bill S-1258, which has passed the S.C. Senate and is now in the judiciary committee in the House of Representatives. The bill deals with laws making it clear that a surveyor could sign and seal a map of Lake Greenwood for the federal government, without it becoming a plat.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has directed Greenwood County to submit a map showing the high water mark, known as Elevation 440, of Lake Greenwood.
If it becomes a plat, a survey has to be performed. The cost of a survey is estimated to be millions of dollars, while the cost of a map is estimated to $50,000 or less.
