ITT Corp. announced the third phase of the strategic integration of its software technology with the ArcGIS platform from Esri--the ENVI Toolbox for ArcGIS. Building on the multiyear integration of the two platforms, this latest phase will give ArcGIS users the ability to access ENVI tools for analyzing geospatial imagery directly from within the ArcGIS desktop and server environments. Coupled with Esri’s release of the new imagery analysis window in ArcGIS 10, the new ENVI tools will reportedly deliver unprecedented imagery analysis capabilities to geographic information systems (GIS) professionals worldwide and further the Esri and ITT commitment to make imagery a core component of GIS. The ENVI Toolbox will be available in ENVI 4.8 and ENVI EX in the fall of 2010. (www.itt.com)
