Gary Montgomery, Chairman of the Board of Montgomery & Barnes, Inc., a Houston based civil engineering and consulting services firm, is pleased to announce that President Wendell (Buddy) Barnes is now majority owner. This has enabled the firm to qualify as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Mr. Montgomery will remain as Chairman of the Board.

“Buddy’s leadership and expertise continues to help us expand into new markets, and this new SDVOSB status of Montgomery & Barnes gives us the opportunity to enter into the Federal market, an initiative that we embraced when Buddy joined the firm,” said Montgomery.

The Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Initiative was created to help provide more opportunities in federal contracting for SDVOSBs.  Expanding business opportunities was a way to honor the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces.

Since 1996 Montgomery & Barnes, Inc., formerly Gary Montgomery & Associates, Inc. has provided a broad range of civil engineering, surveying and consulting services to the greater Houston area clientele.

The firm has demonstrated expertise in managing complicated multi-party projects for public and private clients and has dealt effectively with all levels of regulatory agencies. This has resulted in quality performance in the following areas: rail and port, construction management, hydraulics and hydrology, land development, special districts (MUDs, TIRZs), stormwater quality and NPDES, transportation, wastewater, and water resources and supply.

As a full service consulting firm, Montgomery & Barnes, Inc. offers a recognized depth of experience in program management, feasibility analysis, project planning, design, cost estimation, permitting, agency liaison and construction management.
