Elmwood
Park, NJ – Langan Engineering &
Environmental Services and its employees set out to raise money for the relief
effort in Haiti – and delivered a total gift of $50,000. Langan presented a
check to the American Red Cross for the agency’s Haitian relief fund. Langan
employees contributed $25,000 to the fundraiser, with Langan matching the amount
for a total contribution of $50,000.
The American
Red Cross expressed gratitude and admiration for Langan’s goodwill. “This gift
to the relief effort demonstrates a tremendous amount of compassion and caring
by Langan and its employees for the people of Haiti,” noted Ray Shepherd, CEO
for the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey. “Langan and its employees
can take great pride in their willingness to give even during these tough
economic times.”
“Our giving
goes beyond a corporate decision to write a check,” said David T. Gockel,
President/ CEO, Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. “Langan
employees decided to go into their own wallets, which during these hard times,
speaks volumes for the compassion of our people and our belief in doing what’s
right.”

Langan fundraisers raised $30,000 in June 2008 for the Myanmar cyclone,
earthquake in China, and several severe storms in the United States; $20,000 in
December 2007 for wildfire damage in Greece; $76,000 in August 2005 for victims
of Hurricane Katrina; and $40,000 in January 2005 for the devastating Indian
Ocean earthquake tsunami.
