Elmwood Park, NJ  – Langan Engineering & Environmental Services and its employees set out to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti – and delivered a total gift of $50,000. Langan presented a check to the American Red Cross for the agency’s Haitian relief fund. Langan employees contributed $25,000 to the fundraiser, with Langan matching the amount for a total contribution of $50,000.

The American Red Cross expressed gratitude and admiration for Langan’s goodwill. “This gift to the relief effort demonstrates a tremendous amount of compassion and caring by Langan and its employees for the people of Haiti,” noted Ray Shepherd, CEO for the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.   “Langan and its employees can take great pride in their willingness to give even during these tough economic times.”

“Our giving goes beyond a corporate decision to write a check,” said David T. Gockel, President/ CEO, Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. “Langan employees decided to go into their own wallets, which during these hard times, speaks volumes for the compassion of our people and our belief in doing what’s right.”

Previous Langan fundraisers raised $30,000 in June 2008 for the Myanmar cyclone, earthquake in China, and several severe storms in the United States; $20,000 in December 2007 for wildfire damage in Greece; $76,000 in August 2005 for victims of Hurricane Katrina; and $40,000 in January 2005 for the devastating Indian Ocean earthquake tsunami.
