U.S. Navy Awards Geospatial Services and Solutions Contract to Northrop

RESTON, Va., -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) 3001 International, Inc. has been awarded a contract by the Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Atlantic to provide geospatial services and solutions enhancing the service's capabilities for planning, asset management, training, infrastructure, and homeland defense both at home and abroad.

The NAVFAC contract consists of a one-year base period, with four one-year options for a total potential value of $15 million.

"3001 International has specialized experience in the development of geospatial information system (GIS) applications as well as extensive knowledge of the Navy 's facilities management programs and standards," said John Olesak, vice president of integrated intelligence for Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector. "This win is a testament to the company's longstanding relationship with the Navy and the company's reputation as one of the leading geospatial solutions providers in the country."

Under this contract, 3001 International will provide geographic information systems, professional surveying, and mapping services to NAVFAC. These include data acquisition and feature development using remote sensing techniques such as digital orthophotography and LiDAR acquisition, processing, and analysis. Additionally, the company will provide various GIS services such as system development, training, technical writing, GPS feature development, data conversion, space management, GIS application development, and other geospatial services as they relate to Navy IT systems.

Work on the contract will take place in Gainesville, Fla.; Peachtree City, Ga.; and Huntsville, Ala. 3001 International's teammates include Aero-Metric, Inc., Sheboygan, Wis.; Ayres Associates, Inc., Eau Claire, Wis.; Blom Aerofilms, Cheddar, United Kingdom; Defense Acquisition, Inc., Huntsville, Ala.; EMA, Inc., Lexington Park, Md.; Frank X. Spencer & Associates, El Paso, Texas; NVision Solutions, Inc., Bay St. Louis, Miss.; Photo Science, Inc., Lexington, Ky.; and TAIC, Silverdale, Wash.
