Dewberry Welcomes Expertise of Chris Munson

Dewberry, a privately-held professional services firm, has named Chris Munson a senior project manager in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office. In his new role, Munson will be responsible for managing and consulting on large Geographic Information System (GIS) projects for defense, state, and/or municipal-level governments, as well as marketing GIS capabilities across practices.

Munson has 25 years’ experience with architecture and engineering firms, as well as local government. His specializations include landscape architecture and the use of GIS for open space planning and environmental management. His project work has included the Open Space Master Plan for the Arlington County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department in Virginia. Munson also led the Tysons II Galleria Infrastructure and Landscape Master Plan team while at HOK Architects, as well as the software development team for NOAA’s National Ice Center website development while at ESRI.

Munson earned a Master of Architecture degree in landscape architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine arts from the University of the South. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
