Hexagon acquires two leading distributors in the United States

Hexagon has entered into separate agreements to acquire American companies; Surveyors Service Company and Haselbach Surveying Instruments. Both California based companies are leading providers of precision measurement products, repair services, training and technical support for professionals in the field of surveying and construction. Technologies such as total stations, GPS systems, rotating lasers, digital levels and software have been their core business for a combined 110 years. Surveyors Service Company has seven regional southwest locations and is headquartered in Southern California and Haselbach Surveying Instruments is based in Northern California.

"The acquisition of Surveyors Service Company and Haselbach Surveying Instruments is continuation of Hexagon’s overall NAFTA growth strategy in the core surveying and construction markets. Both these businesses will become part of our current business model, where customers have come to expect superior local sales and service", says Bill Gruber, President Leica Geosystems, Inc.

Hexagon plans to continue operations under existing management in both operations.

"Surveyors Service Company and Haselbach Surveying Instruments will operate as stand-alone companies. We expect that these companies will continue to be premier suppliers of surveying and construction products to customers in these key geographic markets ", says Bill Gruber.

Hexagon AB is a global technology group with strong market positions within measurement technologies and polymers. Hexagon's vision is to be number one or number two in each strategic business area. The group has about 9 400 employees in 30 countries and net sales of about 14 000 MSEK.
