Spirent Communications is celebrating 20 years at the forefront of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) testing. From the earliest days of GPS simulation in the mid-1980s, the team at Spirent has continually tracked developments and worked in partnership with the key companies and people in the industry.

Over the past 20 years Spirent has remained at the forefront of GNSS testing, initially with GPS and then progressively to include augmentation systems such as space based augmentation systems (SBAS) and local area augmentation systems (LAAS) and additional navigation systems such as GLONASS and, looking to the future, Galileo. Spirent claims a number of industry firsts during this time, including first commercial GLONASS simulator and first to offer commercial M-code, L5 and L2C simulators. Today Spirent’s simulation systems are used throughout the world in more than 30 countries and on every continent.
