Richmond Hill, Ontario – April 13, 2006: PCI Geomatics announced that it will attend the 29th GITA Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida, from April 23 to 26, which is immediately followed by the Oracle® Spatial Users Conference on April 27. PCI Geomatics and eSpatial will jointly announce the integration of PCI Geomatica Image Management System (GIMS) with eSpatial iSMART. The integrated technology will be showcased for the first time at a Solution Spotlight event at GITA.

GIMS is a robust and effective, enterprise-wide solution that can store, process, and access geospatial data. Built using PCI Geomatics, Oracle, and eSpatial technology, GIMS is the solution for organizations looking to go one step further in integrating and managing geospatial data in the enterprise environment.

At GITA, PCI Geomatics and eSpatial will demonstrate GIMS through a unique Solution Spotlight presentation, called Geomatica Image Management System: Picture Better Geospatial Management for the Enterprise, on Tuesday, April 25 at 2:00 P.M. With the increased use of imagery in the enterprise, the GIMS solution provides an integrated environment that lets clients archive and retrieve image data and metadata quickly and easily. GIMS enables the management of image data or metadata, or both, in a database and provides intelligent data loading, storage and Web-based access solutions, which can help increase the practicality, integrity, and accessibility of image data.

PCI Geomatics will be at booth #330 and can provide additional information on GIMS or Geomatica 10, the company’s geospatial, image-centric software. Attendees are encouraged to visit.

Following GITA, at the Oracle Spatial Users Conference, PCI Geomatics will present On-Demand Mapping at the Innovation Acceleration Centre within Natural Resources Canada. This presentation will focus on The Mapping Centre, a GeoCapacity Information System (GCIS) built on PCI Geomatics and Oracle technology. Recently deployed as a pilot project at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), the Mapping Centre is a fully automated mapping system, designed to correct, enhance, and mosaic imagery using automated process flows. Ultimately, the system produces detailed, accurate, and standardized mapping functionally products and delivery systems nationwide.
