GPS vs. GNSS

Other than a bit quicker response time and satellite availability, is GNSS worth it? It can cost tens of thousands of dollars in equipment costs to get essentially the same information as GPS-only type of equipment.

How long would it take to recover those costs?

Thanks.

Title: Well worth it.

Scott,
Having used GPS since 1998 I can confidently say that GNSS was well worth the extra cost. Earlier this year we purchased our first GNSS receivers. We work almost exclusively in RTK. I am not sure what you're basing your tens of thousands of dollars on. If you are trying to replace an entire fleet of equipment then maybe. The cost that I have seen per receiver is well worth it after having used it. We are getting shots that are impossible with GPS alone.
